Luncheon Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    tomatoes (red and ripe, but firm)
    salt and pepper to taste
    olive and pimento or chive cream cheese
    butter spread (soft tub type)
    plain flour
    1 egg, beaten
    oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Wash and slice tomatoes into medium thickness.
    Spread one slice with flavored cream cheese.
    Top with second tomato slice. Dip in beaten egg, then in flour, salt and pepper mixture.
    Have oil hot, but not too hot, about medium heat.
    Fry on both sides. A different taste than fried green tomatoes.
