Seven-Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, finely shredded
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 large chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas (uncooked)
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Arrange lettuce, celery, green pepper, onion and peas in layers in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Spread with mayonnaise.
    Top evenly with cheese, then bacon and sprinkle with sugar.
    Cover pan tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate 24 hours.
