Savory Spareribs And Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. spareribs
    2 onions, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    3 bay leaves
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 sprig thyme
    3 lb. cabbage, cored and sliced
    3 large white potatoes, peeled and sliced
Preparation
    Wash spareribs in cold water.
    Place ribs in a pot and cover with water.
    Add onions, garlic, bay leaves, salt, pepper and thyme.
    Bring to a boil; lower heat and cover pot.
    Simmer meat for 40 to 50 minutes or until fork-tender.
    Heat oven to 450\u00b0. Remove meat from pot and place in a baking pan.
    Add cabbage and potatoes to the pan that the meat was cooked in.
    (Do not throw away the juices.)
