Tamale Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. canola oil or spray release
    1 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. finely chopped jalapeno pepper
    1 garlic clove, minced
    8 oz. ground turkey breast or lean ground beef
    1 c. tomato sauce
    1 c. frozen whole kernel corn
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 to 1 tsp. Mexican chili powder
    3 oz. stone ground yellow corn meal
    1 1/2 oz. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large skillet, heat bell pepper, onion, jalapeno and garlic.
    Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until vegies are tender, about 5 minutes.
    Add turkey and cook, stirring frequently until
    no longer pink.
    Add tomato sauce, corn, 1/2 teaspoon salt and the chili powder.
