Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 stick oleo
2 eggs
1 (No. 2) can fruit cocktail
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans
1 c. brown sugar
Preparation

Put 1 1/2 cups sugar, the stick of oleo and the 2 eggs into bowl; cream well. Add the fruit cocktail with juice, then the flour, soda and vanilla. Pour into large, greased floured pan. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans and brown sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. When done, poke holes in cake and cover with topping.
