Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. water or strong coffee
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. soft lard
1 1/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Combine cocoa and hot liquid.
Sift together flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Cream lard and sugar; add eggs, beating 2 minutes.
Add vanilla and then flour mixture, alternating with cocoa mix.
Put in greased baking dish and bake at 350\u00b0.
