Lettuce Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. water
    salt and pepper
    butter
Preparation
    Mix egg and sugar together until smooth.
    Add vinegar and water.
    Put over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    When it starts to boil, turn heat to low and let it boil about 5 to 10 minutes. Add salt and butter to taste.
    Cool.
    Can be stored in refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks.
