Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 2/3 c. white sugar
    2/3 c. cocoa
    2/3 c. shortening or 1/3 c. shortening and 1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
    1 1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    salt to taste
    1 1/2 c. cold water
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Beat together the flour, sugar, cocoa, shortening and/or applesauce, soda, baking powder, vanilla and salt.
    Add 1 cup cold water and 1 egg; mix well.
    Add 1/2 cup cold water and 2 eggs; mix well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes, or until it tests done.
