Jalapeno Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. corn meal
1 heaping Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 small can cream-style corn
3 to 6 jalapenos, chopped
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
2 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. salad oil
1/2 green pepper, chopped
4 to 5 green onions, chopped
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients; add buttermilk, oil, eggs and corn.
Mix and beat well.
Stir in jalapenos, green pepper and onion.
Grease a 9 x 14-inch baking dish with bacon drippings or margarine.
Heat dish.
Pour in 1/2 of batter, sprinkle with 1/2 of cheese.
Pour in remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Serves 6.
