Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 flaked coconut
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. melted butter
3 Tbsp. orange juice
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Cream together shortening, butter and the 3/4 cup powdered sugar.
Blend in the 1 1/2 cups flour.
Press mixture in bottom of ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
While this is baking, mix together the eggs, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla, nuts and coconut.
Spread this mixture over the hot baked layer.
Bake an additional 20 minutes. Make icing from the 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, orange juice and lemon rind and spread over mixture while still warm.
Cool and cut into bars.
