Microwave Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (1 1/2 oz.) pkg. brown gravy mix with mushrooms
3 stalks celery, cut in 1-inch slices
3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in 8 pieces each
Preparation

Put beef cubes in a 3-quart microproof casserole or baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt.
Combine gravy mix with 1 cup water; stir.
Pour over meat.
Cover and cook on High (maximum power) for 5 minutes; stir.
Cover and cook on 60 (bake) for 20 minutes.
Add celery, carrots and potatoes and stir lightly so that vegetables are covered with gravy.
Add more water for a thinner gravy and salt for the vegetables.
Cover and cook on 50 (simmer) for 25 to 30 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender.
Remove from microwave and let stand for 5 minutes.
