Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn in pieces
    1 large green pepper, diced
    1 onion, sliced in rings
    10 oz. bag frozen peas (I use Green Giant Select early June peas)
    1 c. celery, diced
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
    Hormel real bacon bits
Preparation
    Layer first 5 ingredients in the order given in a 9 x 13-inch dish.
    Mix together mayonnaise and sugar.
    Spread over salad.
    Top with cheeses and sprinkle with bacon bits.
    Refrigerate overnight.
