Peach Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. fresh peaches, peeled and crushed
    1/2 c. water
    6 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine peaches and water.
    Cook gently for 10 minutes.
    Add sugar; stir until sugar dissolves.
    Bring to a boil very slowly, then cook rapidly for about 15 minutes or until thick.
    Pour boiling hot into jars and seal.
    Makes 4 pints.
