Buttermilk Lemon Cream Pie - cooking recipe

3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. margarine
3 eggs, separated
1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 Tbsp. cream of tartar
1/3 c. sugar
Preparation

Combine sugar and cornstarch in a heavy saucepan.
Mix well. Add buttermilk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in margarine.
