Pacific Paella - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 chicken breast halves, boned and skinned
    1 tsp. each salt and paprika
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 lb. mild Italian sausage
    1 (14 1/2 to 16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    2 cans chicken broth (13 3/4 oz. or 14 oz. each)
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. saffron
    2 c. Uncle Ben's converted rice
    1 large onion, cut into wedges
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 lb. medium shrimp, cooked, peeled and deveined
    1 green pepper, cut into strips
    10 clams, cleaned and steamed
Preparation
    Cut chicken breasts into 1/2-inch strips.
    Combine paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
    Add chicken and stir until all seasonings are worked into chicken.
    Cut sausage into 1/4 inch pieces; remove casing.
    Drain and coarsely chop tomatoes.
    Add enough water to chicken broth to make 3 3/4 cups.
    Bring to a boil in a 12 inch skillet.
    Stir in turmeric, saffron, rice, onion, garlic, chicken, sausage and tomatoes.
    Reduce heat, cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in shrimp and green pepper; top with clams.
    Let stand, covered, until all liquid is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
