Miss Sallie'S Candies Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 large sweet potatoes
    3/4 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 c. butter
Preparation
    Wash and peel yams.
    Cut lengthwise in 1/4-inch thick slices. Place in baking pan.
    Cover with 3/4 cup water and boil until tender, but not soft.
    Sprinkle slices with sugar, salt and nutmeg. Dot with butter; bake until syrup forms, 20 to 30 minutes.
