Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    dash of salt
    2 beaten egg whites
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. pecans
Preparation
    Place in a pan over low heat, the sugar, syrup, water and salt.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved, then cook, without stirring, to 250\u00b0 (hard ball stage).
    Remove from heat and pour into stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
    Continue beating until mixture loses its gloss.
    Add vanilla and pecans.
    Drop on wax paper.
    Yields 18 to 24 pieces.
