Ingredients

6 large tart apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
grated nutmeg (fresh, if available)
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. slivered almonds
Preparation

Pare apples; slice thinly and mix with the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Line a large flan pan or a pie pan with crust.
Pack apples down to keep flat.
