Ingredients

1 c. butter
6 eggs, separated
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. soda, cloves and allspice
2 c. blackberry jam
Preparation

Beat eggs separately.
Cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
Add flour. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
Add sugar, butter and flour mixture. Add egg yolks, spices and jam.
Fold in egg whites. Do not beat. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done, but no less than 1 1/2 hours.
