Butterscotch Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. milk (scant)
    6 medium apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    dash of salt
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
