Tomato Catsup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    tomatoes
    ground green peppers
    5 to 6 medium ground onions
    2 to 3 cayenne or hot peppers
    onion salt
    2 c. cider vinegar
    2 Tbsp. allspice (substitutions are cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves)
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Fill canner with tomatoes which have been run through the blender; simmer for several hours, removing water as it gathers. Then add peppers, onions and onion salt.
    Mix remaining ingredients together, then add tomatoes and continue to simmer until reduced to about 1/2 the beginning size or until desired thickness is reached.
    Ladle into hot sterilized jars; seal. Makes 4 to 5 quarts.
