Easy Maple Syrup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar (or brown sugar, firmly packed)
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
    1/4 c. butter (1/2 stick)
Preparation
    Heat sugar in a saucepan.
    Add the water and bring to a full boil.
    Boil for 2 minutes.
    Remove from the heat and stir in the flavoring and butter.
    Store in the refrigerator.
    Makes 1 1/2 cups.
