Potato Soup(Original Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
    salt to taste
    1/4 c. onion
    3 carrots, grated
    1 c. sour cream
    1 c. grated cheese (Velveeta or sharp adds good flavor)
Preparation
    Put potatoes in large kettle; cover with water.
    Add salt, onion and carrots.
    Cook until vegetables are tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Add sour cream and cheese.
    Allow cheese to melt and serve. Do not drain off potato water.
    Add milk to thin, if needed.
