Stewed Codfish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry cod (bacala)
    2 medium onions, sliced
    1 green pepper, sliced
    1 c. stewed tomatoes
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Soak cod in cold water for 6 to 8 hours.
    Drain.
    Bring cod to boil; drain and taste.
    If too salty, soak in cold water.
    Taste at 15 minute intervals until excess salt is removed.
    Drain and set aside.
