Apple Fritter Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. milk
    2 large cooking apples
    Vegetable oil
    sifted powdered sugar
Preparation
    Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Combine eggs and milk; add to dry ingredients, stirring well. Peel, core, and slice each apple into 1/4 inch-thick rings.
    Dip apple slices into batter, and fry in deep, hot oil (375\u00b0).
    Cook only a few at a time, turning once.
    Fry 2 to 3 minutes or until fritters are golden brown.
    Drain well on paper towels.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
    Serve immediately.
    Yield: 12 to 14 slices.
