Gingerbread House Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    5 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. ground ginger
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat in egg, molasses and vinegar. Sift together dry ingredients; blend in.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Roll dough on lightly floured surface.
    Cut into house shapes. Place 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 5 to 6 minutes.
    Cool.
    Decorate with icing and candies.
    Makes about 3 dozen.
