Strawberry-Filled French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    12 slices bread
    1/2 c. strawberry jam
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 c. margarine
    maple syrup
    fresh fruit
Preparation
    Spread cream cheese on 6 of the bread slices.
    Spread jam over the cream cheese.
    Top with remaining bread slices.
    Cut diagonally.
    Beat together milk, vanilla and nutmeg in a shallow bowl.
    Dip each triangle in egg mixture.
    Fry in margarine. When brown on first side, turn over and fry on the other side until brown.
    Serve with maple syrup.
    Garnish with fresh fruit.
