Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    5 c. self-rising flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    Sift flour, soda, sugar into a large bowl.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add buttermilk, yeast (dissolved), stir and mix well.
    Let mixture (dough) stand in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
    Then pour out onto floured counter or cutting board.
    Roll out with floured rolling pin to about 1/2 inch thickness.
    Cut out biscuits and place in baking pan.
    Bake about 15 minutes.
    Makes about 30 biscuits.
