German Chocolate Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    2/3 c. evaporated milk (small can)
    40 caramels
    3/4 c. melted butter
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter. Press half of mixture into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan (wax paper is a good way to press mixture flat).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes or until bubbly.
    Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
    Remove cake from oven. Pour caramel mixture on top.
    Sprinkle on chocolate chips and nuts. Crumble remaining cake mix on top and return to oven.
    Bake 15 to 18 minutes.
    Cool in refrigerator 30 minutes or longer.
    Cut into bars.
