Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    1 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk or cream
    2 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    additional milk or cream (as might be needed)
Preparation
    Melt margarine or butter.
    Blend in brown sugar and salt. Cook over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly.\tAdd milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil.
    Remove from heat.
    Gradually blend in confectioners sugar.
    Add vanilla and mix well.
