Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. Crisco
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
milk (enough to roll out dough)
1 lb. figs
1/4 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. walnuts
1/4 lb. dates
1/4 tsp. citron or orange peel
1 tsp. tips of cloves
11/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 pt. or more boiling water
Preparation

Grind the figs, raisins, walnuts, dates and citron or orange peel. Add a teaspoon tip of cloves, cinnamon, sugar and the boiling water until mixture is easy to spread.
Roll out dough and spread mixture.
Roll up dough and cut into cookie size pieces. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 12 minutes.
