Chicken Paprika - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. red paprika
    1 tsp. black pepper
    2 tsp. salt
    4 to 5 lb. chicken, cut up (fat removed)
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 pt. sour cream
    1 Tbsp. flour
    rice or noodles (optional)
Preparation
    Brown onion in shortening.
    Add seasonings and chicken.
    Brown 10 minutes on all sides.
    Add water; cover and simmer slowly until tender.
