Lentil Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lentils
    4 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. thinly sliced carrot
    1 bay leaf
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. canned tomatoes
    2 frankfurters, sliced
Preparation
    Rinse lentils; drain and place in large saucepan.
    Add the water, onion, celery, carrot, garlic powder, bay leaf, salt, pepper and tomatoes.
    Cover and simmer 2 hours.
    Add sliced frankfurters.
    Heat through, about 5 minutes.
