Stewed Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. cling or freestone peaches
    1/2 c. (about) sugar
Preparation
    Pare and quarter peaches and remove stones.
    Add a small amount of cold water (about 1/2 cup).
    Cover and heat slowly. Simmer until peaches are soft, 5 to 15 minutes.
    Stir sugar into hot peaches.
    Chill and serve.
    Makes 5 servings.
