Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    5 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    1 stick margarine
    1/4 c. Crisco
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. Angel Flake coconut
Preparation
    Separate eggs, 5 whites and 5 yolks.
    First, beat egg whites in a small bowl.
    Set aside.
    In a LARGE bowl, cream sugar, margarine, and Crisco.
    Add the egg yolks, one at a time.
    Add flour and soda alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in coconut. Fold in the egg whites just until they are incorporated into the batter.
    Pour into 3 well greased cake pans.
    Use 2 ovens as the third layer doesn't bake evenly if baked with the other two.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes until done.
    Cool before icing.
