Shake Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    sliced cucumbers
    4 to 8 sliced onions
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. salt
    1 tsp. alum
    1 tsp. celery salt
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Fill gallon jar with sliced cucumbers and onions, depending on your taste.
    Mix together sugar, vinegar, salt, alum, celery salt, mustard seed and turmeric.
    Pour mixture over the cucumbers and onions.
    Place jar in refrigerator.
    Shake once a day for 6 days. Ready to eat.
    As you use pickles from jar, you can replace and keep jar full.
