Peanut Brittle Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white syrup
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    12 oz. raw peanuts
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup and water in saucepan, bringing to a slow boil. Cook until it spins a thread or 230\u00b0. Add nuts; continue to cook until nuts smell roasted or 300\u00b0. Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and soda. Stir until blended. Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets. Leave until completely cooled. Break into pieces.
