Cheese Scalloped Carrots - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 sliced, pared carrots
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. milk
3 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. dry or regular mustard
1/2 lb. sliced American or Cheddar cheese
3 Tbsp. bread crumbs
1 Tbsp. butter (for bread crumbs)
1/8 tsp. white pepper
1/4 tsp. celery or regular salt
1/2 onion, chopped
Preparation

Early in the day, cook carrots, covered in water, until barely tender; drain.
Meanwhile, gently cook onion in butter for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add mustard, then milk.
Cook, stirring.
Add salt.
