Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream the shortening, sugar and 2 eggs.
    Make a paste of coloring and cocoa; add to shortening mixture.
    Add milk alternately with flour and salt.
    Add vanilla.
    Fold in vinegar over soda; make paste.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
