15-Minute Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
    2/3 c. water
    1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1 c. sour cream
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    10 to 12 oz. egg noodles, cooked
Preparation
    Cut meat into thin short strips and cook in oil quickly.
    Add water and mushrooms (including the liquid); stir in soup mix and heat to a boil.
    Turn heat down and simmer a minute or two while you blend sour cream and flour.
    Add to mixture, cook and stir until mixture thickens.
    Serve over hot cooked egg noodles.
    Makes 5-6 servings.
