Cool Rise Dinner Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 to 3 c. unsifted flour
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. water
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 egg
1 Tbsp. liquid shortening
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly mix 1 cup flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
Combine milk, water and margarine in small saucepan.
Heat over medium heat until bubbles appear around the edge of the liquid (do not boil).
Gradually add hot liquid to dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally with rubber scraper.
Add egg and 1/2 cup flour.
Beat on high speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
By hand, using wooden spoon, stir in enough additional flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured board.
Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Cover with plastic wrap, then a towel.
Let rest 20 minutes.
Punch dough down. Shape as directed.
