Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. ginger or other spices (if desired)
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
    Add dry ingredients and mix. Chill for 45 minutes or more.
    Roll 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut with cookie cutter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
