Okra Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. okra
3 slices bacon, cut 1-inch
1/4 c. water
salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, sliced
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 tsp. chili powder
Preparation

Cut okra crosswise in 1-inch pieces.
Fry bacon crisp.
Fry okra in bacon drippings.
Remove okra and cook onion until tender, stirring to keep from burning.
Add tomatoes after breaking into small pieces.
Bring to boil, then add okra and bacon mixture and chili powder.
This is good with rice.
