Portuguese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
    1 (32 oz.) Bloody Mary mix
    2 c. water
    2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained
    1 small can chickpeas
    2 medium potatoes, finely diced
    2 carrots, diced
    1/2 small head cabbage, chopped fine
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
    dash of hot sauce
Preparation
    Cook sausage in water for 20 minutes.
    Add Bloody Mary mix and all other ingredients and simmer for one hour or more.
    Serve with good crusty bread and a salad for a great dinner.
