No Peek Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef stew
    6 medium carrots, cut in chunks
    3 stalks celery, cut in chunks
    1 or 2 onions, sliced
    6 small red potatoes, cut in chunks
    1 lb. green beans (whole)
    1 green pepper, sliced thin
    1 clove garlic, diced
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can V-8 juice
    1/2 can water
Preparation
    Layer meat, vegetables and potatoes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Mix cornstarch, salt, sugar, pepper, V-8 juice and water.
    Pour over stew.
    Cover tightly with foil and cook 4 hours at 250\u00b0.
