English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    1 lb. sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Let butter melt in a 3-quart saucepan until softened, but not running.
    Then add sugar and boil until 1 tablespoon of mixture will harden in cold water.
    Do not allow to turn dark in color. Pour over chopped nuts to cool.
