Stove Top Roast Beef - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 to 4 1/2 lb. roast
8 small potatoes, cut in half
5 large carrots, cut into logs
1 Tbsp. pickle juice
1 Tbsp. Crisco
Preparation

Braise roast in Crisco in iron skillet.
Add 2 tablespoons water after beef roast is braised.
Remove roast before making brown gravy from water and brownings left in the skillet.
Put 4 cups water in Dutch oven on top of stove.
Pour gravy from water and beef brownings.
Put in potatoes and carrots and cook low on top of stove.
Put in pickle juice to tender.
