Never Fail Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. white Karo syrup
    2 sticks butter (no substitutes)
    1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
Preparation
    In a large sauce pan, mix all ingredients.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly to a soft ball or slightly higher; should be bubbling and turn slightly darker and clearer when done. Pour out on large cookie sheet; sprinkle nuts on top if desired. Let cool.\tCut and wrap in wax paper.
