Marinated Vidalia Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vegetable oil
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    4 medium Vidalia onions, sliced
    2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
Preparation
    In a large salad bowl, combine sugar, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Add onions and carrots. Toss well and cover. Refrigerate 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
