Dr. Erikson'S Glogg - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. orange peel (dried) or 2 tsp. fresh orange peel, grated
    1 tsp. ginger, ground
    2 whole pieces cinnamon
    8 cloves
    1 tsp. cardamon seed or pods
    750 ml dry red wine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vodka or brandy
Preparation
    Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil, then boil slowly for 30 minutes.
    Strain and reserve liquid.
    Add sugar, wine and vodka or brandy.
    Heat and serve with blanched almonds and raisins.
